Versant plans to begin work to replace the Islesford power cable, today, Monday, August 8. This day will be dedicated to shore prep for the cable.
They will then lay and trench the cable on Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12. They will be connecting the cable to the grid on one or both of those days and we can expect intermittent power outages on 8/11 & 8/12. At this time it is not clear what the extent of the outages will be. Islesford will definitely have power interruptions while Versant connects the new cable, but it is unclear if GCI will also lose power.
Please plan for interruptions of power on Thursday and Friday.
